Nerve Pain
in Kansas City

Do you have numbness, tingling, or pain in your extremity?

Of the many types of pain, nerve pain is known to be of the most intense and unrelenting. This can wake patients from sleep and leave you unable to do even the simplest of activities. The cause of these symptoms can be from the spine, such as the case with a herniated disk, or from the nerve being trapped with conditions such as carpal tunnel.

Finding the cause of your nerve pain is the most important part in providing you with the right kinds of treatment. At Motus, we specialize in the evaluation and treatment of nerve pain in Kansas City.

Can Motus treat nerve pain in Kansas City?

Yes. Carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes in the forearm and hand, sciatica, and tarsal tunnel syndrome in the ankle and foot can be treated with biologics in a majority of individuals.

So what’s the next step?

Your initial consultation with Motus will consist of a regular doctor’s visit. We will ask you about your symptoms and previous treatments, perform a physical examination, and review any x-rays, EMG/NCV, or MRI studies that you may have had. We may refer you for these tests should they be necessary. The entire visit is billed to your insurance.

Once the proper diagnosis is established, we can design a customized treatment plan. This may consist of what are called “diagnostic and therapeutic blocks.” It involves using a small amount of anesthetic (without steroid) to temporarily numb the area that is believed to be the source of the pain. If successful, Motus can localize cellular and/or PRP treatment(s) need to be placed.

Should you not be a candidate for biologic treatments for nerve pain in Kansas City, we may suggest alternative treatments including medications, physical therapy, steroid injections, or surgery. Motus is happy to refer you to one of the many terrific local orthopedic spine or neurosurgeons, or to the surgeon of your choice.  Motus is here to ensure you are aware of all of the treatment options that are available to you.
